How to Use the Horn

The Horn is a handheld item you use to make noise in the world.

Getting a Horn

Obtain a Horn and keep it in your hotbar. It is a held item rather than a placeable block, so it does not go on the ground.

Using it

Select the Horn in your hotbar and use it. It produces its sound effect at your position, which makes it useful for signalling — for example, marking the start of a build, calling attention in a multiplayer base, or adding atmosphere to a themed area.

Because the Horn is an item and not a block, it will not be consumed when you use it. You can use it as many times as you like. Store it in a chest or an item frame when you are not carrying it, and keep it with your other tools so you do not lose track of it while mining or exploring. Pair it with decorative builds such as a Rainbow Bed camp or a Flower Pot garden to give a themed area its own sound cue.
