How to Build and Light a Hell Portal

Building the Frame

A Hell Portal is the only block in the mod that moves you between dimensions. Build the frame out of Hell Stone, which you obtain by mining Hell Stone blocks found in the world. Arrange the Hell Stone into a rectangular frame with an empty opening in the middle, the same way you would shape a standard portal frame.

Activating the Portal

Once the Hell Stone frame is complete, you need to light the interior. Stand inside or next to the empty opening and use your ignition method on the frame's inner space. When the portal activates, the empty opening fills with the portal surface. Step into it to travel.

If the portal does not light, check that every block of the frame is Hell Stone and that the interior opening is fully clear of any other blocks. A single misplaced block in the frame stops activation.

Returning

Keep track of where you built the portal. You need a working portal on the other side, or a Teleport Back item, to get home. Before you step through for the first time, note your overworld coordinates so you can find the frame again.
