Crafting the Broadsword, Claymore and Cutlass
These three melee weapons cover different speed and damage profiles. Craft each at a crafting table from iron and related materials.
Broadsword
A balanced sword. Craft it early and use it as your default melee weapon. It swings at normal speed with solid damage, making it a good all-rounder while you gather materials for heavier options.
Claymore
A heavier two-handed-style sword. Craft it once you have surplus iron. It hits harder than the Broadsword but swings slower, so use it against single tough mobs rather than swarms.
Cutlass
A faster, lighter blade. Craft it for quick strikes and hit-and-run fighting. Pair it with Boots of Swiftness or Dark Boots so you can dart in, hit, and back off before the mob retaliates.
Choosing Between Them
- Swarms of weak mobs: Cutlass or Broadsword.
- Single armored target: Claymore.
- Mixed fights: carry a Broadsword and swap to the Claymore for the big hit.
Keep all three in a chest near your base and take the one that matches the fight. Repair them at an anvil with iron when durability drops.
