Crafting and Using Crossbows: Auto, Burst, Butterfly and More

Crossbows in this mod cover several firing styles. Craft the base crossbow at a crafting table, then branch into variants by combining it with the right materials.

Crossbow Variants

  • Auto Crossbow: fires repeatedly while you hold the trigger. Best for sustained pressure on a single target.
  • Burst Crossbow: fires a short burst per trigger pull. Good for burst damage on approaching mobs.
  • Butterfly Crossbow: a distinct variant worth crafting once you have spare materials.
  • Dual Crossbows and Baby Crossbows: alternate crossbow options for different playstyles.
  • Corrupted Crossbow, Doom Crossbow and Exploding Crossbow: heavier variants that trade speed for impact.

How to Use Them

Load a crossbow by holding arrows in your inventory, then right-click to fire. With the Auto Crossbow, hold right-click to keep firing. With the Burst Crossbow, tap right-click per burst.

Ammo and Support

Carry an Arrow Bundle to keep arrows organized in your inventory. Pair crossbows with Archer's Hood, Archer's Vest, Archer's Leggings and Archer's Boots for a full ranged build. For close-range backup, keep a Dagger or Cutlass in your hotbar so you are not stuck reloading when a mob reaches you.
