Design Underground Ruins with Textured Floors and Walls

Excavating Your Ruin Space

Clear out a large underground chamber or corridor system. The Dungeons Cobblestone texture works best when you have defined spaces—avoid massive flat areas. Create varied ceiling heights and add pillars to break up monotony and suggest structural collapse.

Laying Foundation and Floors

Use cobblestone for floor sections, mixing in mossy variants to show decay. Create uneven patterns by removing occasional blocks and replacing them with darker stone or leaving gaps. This suggests age and damage. Layer cobblestone with stone slabs at different heights to simulate worn, uneven surfaces.

Wall and Structural Details

Build walls from cobblestone, leaving intentional gaps and cracks. Fill some gaps with mossy cobblestone or darker blocks to suggest overgrowth. Add rubble piles using cobblestone, stone, and gravel in corners and along collapsed sections.

Atmospheric Finishing

Place torches sparingly in wall recesses. Add chains hanging from the ceiling, broken wooden beams, and scattered blocks on the floor. The Dungeons Cobblestone's textured pattern naturally suggests ancient construction, so minimal decoration often looks most authentic.
