How to Craft and Use Bedrolls for Portable Sleeping

Crafting Bedrolls

Bedrolls come in eight colors: Black Bedroll, Blue Bedroll, Brown Bedroll, Cyan Bedroll, Gray Bedroll, Green Bedroll, and the remaining variants. Each is crafted from matching dye plus wool-type materials at a crafting table. Unlike a full bed, a bedroll occupies a single block and can be placed almost anywhere flat.

Using Bedrolls While Traveling

Place a Bedroll on solid ground and interact with it at night to sleep and set your respawn point. Because it is compact, carry one in your inventory during long expeditions instead of a full bed. Pick it back up by breaking it when you move camp.

Bedrolls pair well with Ceramic Lantern for light and a Crate for storing overflow loot at each campsite. If you are exploring caves, bring a Bone Sword and Bone Shield for defense, and a Bone Pickaxe to mine any Amber Ore or Fiery Glass Ore you find along the way. Set the bedroll before descending so your respawn stays near the surface entrance.
