Crafting a Full Set of Flares for Base Marking

Plan Your Colors First

Before crafting, decide which colors you need. The mod provides sixteen: Black Flare, Blue Flare, Brown Flare, Cyan Flare, Gray Flare, Green Flare, Light Blue Flare, Light Gray Flare, Lime Flare, Magenta Flare, Orange Flare, Pink Flare, Purple Flare, Red Flare, White Flare, and Yellow Flare.

A practical base-marking set uses distinct colors for distinct purposes — for example one color per entrance, one per storage area, and one per hazard. Pick colors that are easy to tell apart in low light.

Batch Crafting

All flare recipes are shapeless, so you can place ingredients in any arrangement in the crafting grid. To build a full set efficiently, gather the ingredients for each color, then craft them one after another without clearing your grid between crafts.

If you want multiple flares of the same color, repeat the same shapeless recipe. Each craft yields that color only.

Keep your finished flares sorted by color in a chest near your base entrance so you can grab the right one quickly. Because each flare is a separate item, a labeled chest or a row of single-color stacks makes retrieval fast during building or mining sessions.
