Crafting the Boss Lock

The Boss Lock is the only block in the mod and is made with a shaped crafting recipe. Assemble the required materials in the crafting grid in the lock pattern to produce the block. Once crafted, place it wherever you want a key-gated barrier.

Pairing the Boss Lock with a Boss Key

The Boss Lock works together with the Boss Key. Keep a Boss Key in your inventory when you approach a placed Boss Lock so you can open it. The lock is the anchor point of the key progression: Boss Keys open Boss Locks, and Boss Keys are also the ingredient for the key-themed tools.

Where to Place It

Place the Boss Lock at the entrance to a room, vault, or storage area you want to restrict. Because it is a full block, it fits into walls and doorways like any other block. Surround it with solid blocks so players cannot simply walk around it.

Managing Multiple Locks

If you build several locked rooms, craft one Boss Lock per doorway. Track which Boss Key opens which lock by keeping keys in labeled chests nearby. Do not spend every Boss Key on tools — reserve at least one for opening the Boss Lock itself.
