Crafting the Tall Oak Door

Tall doors occupy two vertical blocks and are built from standard vanilla doors. Place a Short Oak Door in the center of a crafting grid and surround it with oak planks to produce a Tall Oak Door. The same pattern works for every wood type: substitute the matching Short door and matching planks to get the Tall variant of that wood.

Using the Sawmill

If you have a woodworks sawmill available, you can also process wood into door components there. The sawmill accepts wood inputs and outputs door pieces, which you then assemble. This is useful when you want to batch-produce several doors from the same log stack without hand-placing planks in a grid.

Placing and Operating

Tall Oak Doors need two blocks of vertical clearance. Place the door against a block face and it will occupy the block above as well. Right-click to open or close. Because the door is two blocks tall, redstone signals, buttons, and levers connect to the lower half. Iron variants of tall doors do not open by hand and require a redstone pulse.

Matching Your Build

Use Tall Oak Door alongside Short Oak Door in the same wall to create varied heights, or pair it with other Tall wood doors for a uniform two-block entryway. The Tall Oak Door shares the oak texture palette, so it blends with oak planks, logs, and stairs.
