Altar Variants

Dragon Altars come in many material variants: Acacia Dragon Altar, Amethyst Dragon Altar, Bamboo Dragon Altar, Birch Dragon Altar, Blackstone Dragon Altar, Bone Dragon Altar, Cherry Dragon Altar, Crimson Dragon Altar, Dark Oak Dragon Altar, Deepslate Dragon Altar, Endstone Dragon Altar, Ice Dragon Altar, Jungle Dragon Altar, Mangrove Dragon Altar, Mossy Dragon Altar, and Mudbrick Dragon Altar. Each is crafted from its namesake material using the mod's crafting recipes.

Picking the Right Altar

1. Decide which altar variant matches the resource you have in bulk — wood altars from planks and logs, stone altars from Blackstone, Deepslate, Endstone, or Mudbrick.

2. Craft the altar at a crafting table using the shaped or shapeless recipe for that variant.

3. Place the altar on flat ground with room around it.

4. Use Dragon Soul and Dragon Heart Shard as the ritual materials the altar consumes.

Altars are the anchor for dragon-related progression. If you plan to summon or interact with dragons, build the altar first, then gather Dragon Soul, Dragon Heart Shard, and Elder Dragon Bone. Match the altar material to your biome so it fits the build, but any variant functions as an altar once placed.
