Dragon Mounts Legacy Progression: From Egg to Mount

Stage 1 — Get an egg

Obtain a Dragon Egg block or the matching Dragon Spawn Egg for the dragon you want. There are eight types: Aether, End, Fire, Forest, Ghost, Ice, Nether, and Water.

Stage 2 — Hatch in the right biome

Place the Dragon Egg block in the biome that matches its element. Fire and Nether eggs need hot areas, Ice needs cold, Water needs oceans or rivers, Forest needs woods, Aether needs sky-like heights, Ghost needs dark enclosed spaces, and End needs the End.

Stage 3 — Feed to adulthood

Feed the hatchling so it grows. It passes through growth stages and only becomes rideable as an adult. Keep it fed and safe during this time.

Stage 4 — Tame and ride

Interact with the adult dragon to tame it. Once tamed, interact again to mount it. Use movement controls to steer and the jump control to fly. Dismount with the standard control.

Stage 5 — Repeat for other elements

Each element follows the same loop: egg, correct biome, feed, tame, ride. Collect all eight Dragon Egg blocks and their Spawn Eggs to build a full set of mounts. If an egg will not hatch, the biome is wrong — move it and try again.
