How to Craft and Use Dirt Doors

Crafting the Door

Dirt Door is a shaped crafting recipe. Place your Dirt blocks in the standard door pattern on a crafting table to produce a Dirt Door. The same pattern works for every door variant in the mod: swap the Dirt for Coarse Dirt, Clay, Gravel, Sand, Red Sand, Podzol, Mycelium, Grass, or Full Grass Block to get that material's door.

Placing and Operating

Place a Dirt Door against a solid block the way you would any vanilla door. It occupies two blocks of height and opens and closes when you right-click it. Because it is a door, it can be opened by redstone, so you can wire it to a button, lever, or pressure plate for an automatic entrance.

Matching a Build

Use Dirt Door where a wooden or iron door would look out of place — a burrow entrance, a root cellar, a sand-swept shack. Pair it with Dirt Trapdoor above the frame, Dirt Fence along the path, and Dirt Slab or Dirt Stairs for the step up to the threshold. If you are building in a swamp, Mycelium Door and Mycelium Trapdoor keep the palette consistent. In a taiga or snowy biome, Podzol Door and Podzol Fence blend with the ground. For desert builds, Sand Door and Red Sand Door match the terrain without needing to import wood.

Tips

Craft doors in batches — you need one door per opening, plus spares for repairs if you break one by mistake. Keep a stack of the base block in your inventory so you can craft matching fences, gates, slabs, and stairs on site instead of running back to a crafting table.
