Search by Biome Type

Dimensional Breach portals spawn naturally across the Overworld in specific biomes. Your best strategy depends on which biome you're closest to:

• Arid biomes (Badlands, Desert, Savanna): Host four different portal types, making them reliable hunting grounds
• Forested biomes (Forest, Taiga, Dark Forest, Jungle): Spawn Crimson and Warped Forest portals
• Mixed biomes (Swamps, Mangrove Swamps, Pale Gardens): Contain Soul Sand Valley portals

Finding Portals Efficiently

1. Travel to a biome that matches your current location

2. Explore the landscape methodically—portals generate as large structures with distinctive Nether blocks surrounding them

3. Look for visual markers: soul lanterns glow at night, basalt formations stand out, warped wood has a distinctive teal color

4. Listen for Nether ambience—portals emit characteristic sounds

5. Once found, approach cautiously; some portals spawn with hostile Nether mobs nearby

Portals are rare enough to require exploration but common enough that you'll find one within reasonable travel distance. Mark successful locations on a map for future reference.
