Set up DHMPEMFixer for a multiplayer server

Install on both server and client

To run Distant Horizons and MPEM together on a multiplayer server, you need DHMPEMFixer installed in two places:

1. Server side: Add the mod JAR to your dedicated server's mods folder

2. Client side: Add the mod JAR to your client's mods folder alongside Distant Horizons and MPEM

Verify the setup

Before launching:

  • Confirm all three mods (Distant Horizons, MPEM, and DHMPEMFixer) are present in your server's mods folder
  • Confirm all three mods are in your client's mods folder
  • Check that your Forge loader version matches on both client and server

Launch your server first, then connect with your client. The fixer works silently in the background—you won't see new buttons or settings. If the server starts without crashing and you can load chunks with Distant Horizons active, the fix is working correctly.

Troubleshooting

If you still see crashes mentioning proxy fields or null pointers, verify that DHMPEMFixer is actually loaded. Check your latest log file for confirmation that the mod initialized.
