Getting the Desert Guide

The Desert Guide is your reference tool for everything in this mod. It is obtained through crafting and belongs in your inventory at all times while exploring desert terrain. Once you have it, hold it and use it to read entries about the mod's blocks, equipment sets and materials.

Reading Progression Entries

Open the Desert Guide to review the three equipment lines: Cowton, Redonger and Wornaxer. Each line has a Fragment item (Cowton Fragment, Redonger Fragment, Wornaxer Fragment) that feeds into its respective armor and tools. The guide also documents the Ascium block chain — Hardened Ascium, Noist Ascium and Refined Ascium — plus Sand Rock, Sand Rock Slab, Sand Soil, Slow Sand, Sand Ball Item and Sandball.

Use the guide before you commit materials. Check which Fragment you need, whether a piece is part of the base set or the Noist upgrade, and which pickaxe tier you are working toward: §7Amateur Pickaxe, §7Novice Pickaxe, §eGreat Pickaxe, §eGrand Pickaxe or §6Ancient Pickaxe.

Practical Use

Keep the Desert Guide in a hotbar slot while mining Sand Rock and Slow Sand so you can confirm what each drop is for. When you find a new material, look it up immediately rather than storing it blindly — the guide tells you whether it belongs to armor, a block recipe or a pickaxe upgrade path.
