Placing the Rainwater Collector

Craft a Rainwater Collector and place it in an open area with sky access. It fills automatically during rain. Check it after storms to collect the water inside. You can bucket the water out to get a Purified Water Bucket only after boiling — the collector itself gives unpurified water.

Moving Water with the Bamboo Pump

The Bamboo Pump transfers water between containers so you do not have to carry buckets by hand. Place the Bamboo Pump next to your Rainwater Collector and route its output toward a Copper Cauldron or Campfire Cauldron. This creates a hands-off chain: rain falls, the collector fills, the pump moves water, and the cauldron boils it into Purified Water.

Boiling and Storing

Heat the Copper Cauldron or Campfire Cauldron beneath the pump output. Once water boils into Purified Water, fill a Leather Flask directly from the cauldron. Upgrade the flask at a smithing table into an Iron, Golden, Diamond, or Netherite Leather Flask for larger capacity.

Keep the pump and collector close to your cauldron to avoid long routes. If you play on a version without these blocks available, fall back to manual bucketing: collect rainwater, carry it to the cauldron, boil, then fill your flask. The Purified Water Bucket is your portable reserve when a flask runs dry.
