How to Protect Yourself from Radiation

Craft the suit

Craft each piece of the Radiation Suit at a crafting table: Radiation Suit Helmet, Radiation Suit Chestplate, Radiation Suit Leggings, and Radiation Suit Boots. Each piece is a shaped recipe using Resonating Plate Block and other resonant materials. Wear all four pieces before approaching any active resonance machine.

Check exposure

Carry a Radiation Monitor and place it near generators, crystallizers, and smelters. The monitor reports the radiation level in the area. If the reading is high, do not enter without the full suit. Partial suits leave gaps that still let radiation through.

Work safely around machines

When servicing a Generator Controller or Crystallizer, approach from the side away from the Laser and Lens. Keep the Radiation Monitor in your hotbar so you can check levels without leaving the area. If the monitor shows rising levels, step back and let the machine idle before returning.

Handle dense materials

Dense Obsidian and Dense Glass block radiation better than ordinary blocks. Line the walls of your machine room with them to reduce exposure in adjacent spaces. Store unused Resonating Plate Blocks inside a shielded room rather than in the open.
