How to Use Container Traps and Mimic Cores

Container Traps

Container Trap and Container Infestation turn ordinary-looking containers into hazards. Place them where players or mobs will open them — loot rooms, storage halls, dungeon chests. A Container Trap triggers when the container is accessed. Container Infestation releases mobs from the container instead.

Mimic Core and Mini Chest

Mimic Core is the component behind mimic behavior. Mini Chest is the small chest block that pairs with mimic setups. Use Mini Chest Mimic Spawn Egg to place a mini chest that is actually a mimic, and Chest Mimic Spawn Egg for the full-size version.

Building a Trap Room

1. Build a room with several containers along the walls.

2. Replace one or two with Container Trap or Container Infestation blocks.

3. Place a Mini Chest nearby as bait, then use Mini Chest Mimic Spawn Egg on the spot you want the mimic to occupy.

4. Hide a Mimic Core in the room's structure so the mimic logic is anchored.

5. Add Spawner Mimic Spawn Egg on a fake spawner in the corner for a second ambush.

6. Line the exit with Mundane Spike Trap or Tnt Floor Trap so anyone fleeing the mimic hits a second trap.

Keep bait containers visually identical to real ones so the trap is not obvious.
