Using Clay Tiles and Cut Sandstone for Floors and Paths

Clay Tile Floors

Clay Tile is the base block. It comes in Black Clay Tile, Blue Clay Tile, and Cyan Clay Tile as coloured variants. Craft the coloured tiles from Clay Tile plus the appropriate dye at a crafting table. Lay them in a checker or stripe pattern across a floor. Because they are full blocks, they tile cleanly without gaps.

For an outdoor path, mix Clay Tile with Cobbled Limestone. Cobbled Limestone is a rough block that contrasts well against the smooth tile. Alternate rows of Clay Tile and Cobbled Limestone to suggest a worn walkway.

Cut Sandstone Edging

Cut Sandstone Edge, Cut Sandstone Plate, and Cut Sandstone Stairs form a trim family. Use Cut Sandstone Edge to border a Clay Tile floor where it meets a wall. Cut Sandstone Stairs work as a low step up onto a raised floor or as a border along the edge of a patio. Cut Sandstone Plate is a thin facing piece — place it against a wall as a skirting band.

Covered Sandstone Wall is a separate wall block that pairs with the cut sandstone pieces. Use it for low garden walls or as a screen between two outdoor areas. For a curved path, Curved Raked Zen Gravel is a shaped gravel block that follows a bend; lay it between two rows of Clay Tile to define the route.
