How to Craft and Use Wrought Iron Fences and Balusters

Pick the Right Fence Piece

Black Wrought Iron Fence is the standard railing block. Black Reinforced Wrought Iron Fence is the heavier variant for structural runs or high-traffic edges. Black Wrought Iron Baluster is the vertical accent piece for stair rails, balcony fronts, and window guards. All three are crafted from the same wrought iron material family, so plan your iron budget before you start placing.

Run a Fence Line

Place Black Wrought Iron Fence in a straight run along a path, balcony, or garden edge. Where the line turns a corner, keep the same block so the rail reads continuous. For a heavier look, swap in Black Reinforced Wrought Iron Fence on the outer perimeter and use the standard fence for interior dividers.

Add Balusters

Set Black Wrought Iron Baluster between fence posts to create a repeating vertical rhythm. On stairs, place a baluster on each step tread and connect the tops with Black Wrought Iron Fence. On a balcony, run a top rail of Black Wrought Iron Fence and hang balusters below it at regular intervals.

Combine with Stone and Timber

Wrought iron reads best against a solid backing. Candlestick placed on a nearby wall or post adds a light source without breaking the iron line.
