Crafting the Seating

Birch Couch and Birch Footstool are the two upholstered pieces in the Birch set. Both are crafted at a crafting table using Birch planks and related Birch blocks. Craft the Footstool first if you are short on materials — it uses fewer pieces and pairs with any seat.

Place the Birch Couch against a wall with its back to the wall. Put the Birch Footstool directly in front of one end of the couch, offset by one block, so it reads as a leg rest. If you have two Footstools, place one at each end of the couch.

Filling Out the Room

Surround the seating with the rest of the Birch shape family. Birch Beam runs along the ceiling as a trim line. Birch Edge trims the corners of the room. Birch Plate covers a feature wall behind the couch. Birch Wall fills the remaining wall surface. Birch Lattice can screen a window or divide the seating area from the rest of the room. Birch Pergola overhead turns an open corner into a covered nook. Birch Support Beam and Birch Support Slab add depth under a ceiling beam.

For lighting, place a Candlestick on a side table or on the floor beside the couch. For a planter, use Big Flower Pot in the corner. If you want a warmer palette, swap the Birch Wall for Charred Spruce Wall and keep the Birch Couch and Birch Footstool as the focal pieces.
