How to Build with Aridrock, Darkslate, Duskrock and Grimestone

Cut raw stone into a full block set

Each of the four stone families — Aridrock, Darkslate, Duskrock and Grimestone — follows the same progression. Mine the raw block, then run it through a stonecutter to get the shape you want. From a single raw block you can produce the base polished variant (Polished Aridrock, Polished Darkslate, Polished Duskrock, Polished Grimestone) plus slabs and stairs of both the raw and polished forms.

Use the stonecutter for every shape change. It gives you:

• Slab, Stairs and Wall variants of the raw block
• Polished Slab and Polished Stairs
• Bricks, Bricks Slab, Bricks Stairs and Bricks Wall
• Pillar

Decorate with chiseled and cracked variants

Once you have Bricks, the stonecutter also produces Chiseled Aridrock Bricks, Chiseled Darkslate Bricks, Chiseled Duskrock Bricks and Chiseled Grimestone Bricks, plus the matching Cracked Bricks. These are the blocks to reach for when you want texture variation in a wall or floor instead of a flat repeat.

Combine families freely. Aridrock Bricks Slab under a Darkslate Pillar, Grimestone Wall capping a Duskrock Bricks Stairs run — all four sets share the same shape list, so any piece you cut for one family exists for the others. Build a palette out of two or three families and keep the chiseled and cracked pieces for accents so the pattern reads clearly.
