Using Runes: Runelic, Nyctography, Galactic, and More

Rune Types

Runelic Rune, Nyctography Rune, Galactic Rune, Illager Rune, Builder Rune, and Pigpen Rune are the rune items available. Each serves a distinct function in your builds. Runelic Rune is the standard rune used in many Dark Utilities recipes and setups. Nyctography Rune relates to darkness or night-themed effects. Galactic Rune ties to cosmic or end-themed behavior. Illager Rune connects to illager-related mechanics. Builder Rune assists with construction or placement. Pigpen Rune is a cipher-themed rune.

Tomes

Tome of Enchanting and Tome of Shadows are the two tomes. Tome of Enchanting is used for enchanting-related purposes. Tome of Shadows relates to shadow or stealth effects. Both are crafted items you will need before applying certain rune-based setups.

Applying Runes

Place runes as part of your crafting recipes for plates, filters, and other Dark Utilities blocks. Many plates require a specific rune in their recipe. Check which rune each plate needs before crafting — for example, status plates often use Runelic Rune as a base component. Keep a stock of each rune type so you are not stuck mid-build.

Progression

Start with Runelic Rune since it is used most broadly. Craft Tomes once you have the materials, as they unlock higher-tier crafting. Builder Rune helps when you are placing large plate arrays. Nyctography Rune and Galactic Rune are for specialized builds.
