How to Craft and Use the Runelic Tome and Runes

Rune items

Dark Utilities provides several rune items: Builder Rune, Galactic Rune, Illager Rune, Nyctography Rune, Pigpen Rune and Runelic Rune. These are crafted items, made with shaped crafting recipes at a crafting table. The Runelic Tome is the reference item players search for when working with these runes.

What to do with them

Keep your runes in a chest near your crafting area. Use the Runelic Rune as your base rune and combine or reference it when producing the themed variants: Builder Rune for construction work, Galactic Rune for sky or space-themed builds, Illager Rune for illager-related setups, Nyctography Rune for dark or hidden markings, and Pigpen Rune for cipher-style decoration.

Practical workflow

1. Craft a Runelic Rune first.

2. Craft the themed rune you need for the current build.

3. Place or apply the rune where the build calls for it.

4. Store leftovers in a labelled chest so you can find the right rune quickly.

Because all runes come from shaped crafting recipes, you can batch-craft them once you have the base materials. Pair runes with Blank Plate and Anchor Plate when decorating trap rooms so the visual theme matches the mechanics.
