How to Control Redstone with Shielded Redstone and the Redstone Randomizer

Dark Utilities adds Shielded Redstone and Redstone Randomizer. Both are crafted blocks made with shaped crafting recipes at a crafting table. They are the core of any redstone build that uses Dark Utilities plates.

Shielded Redstone

Use Shielded Redstone wherever you need a redstone signal that is not disturbed by nearby wiring. Place it in line with your plate corridor so the signal reaches the far end without cross-talk from adjacent lines. It is especially useful under floors where you have many Vector Plate and effect plate runs side by side.

Redstone Randomizer

Use Redstone Randomizer when you want trap timing to vary. Insert it between your signal source and the plates you want to trigger unpredictably. This prevents mobs from timing their path through a fixed pattern and makes farms and traps less predictable.

Building the circuit

1. Craft Shielded Redstone and Redstone Randomizer.

2. Run Shielded Redstone from your lever or button to the trap area.

3. Place Redstone Randomizer in the line where variation is wanted.

4. Connect to Alert Plate, Damage Plate or any effect plate.

5. Test with a single mob before scaling up.

Combine with Mob Filter blocks so only the intended mobs trigger the circuit.
