How to Build a Mob Farm Using Vector Plates and Mob Filters

Moving Mobs Where You Want Them

Vector Plates push any entity that steps on them. Place a line of Vector Plates leading away from your spawning area toward your collection point. Upgrade the line with Fast Vector Plate for quicker transport or Extreme Vector Plate for maximum push distance. Ultra Vector Plate gives the strongest launch, useful for flinging mobs into a drop chute.

Filtering What Gets Through

Place Mob Filter blocks at the entrance of your kill chamber. Each filter only lets its matching category pass. Use Mob Filter (Hostile) to admit hostile mobs while blocking everything else, or Mob Filter (Undead) and Mob Filter (Arthropod) to separate specific types. Mob Filter (Player) keeps other players out of the farm. Mob Filter (Child) blocks baby mobs that would otherwise clog your system. Mob Filter (Named) stops named mobs from entering, protecting pets and tagged entities.

Finishing the Farm

Route filtered mobs onto a Damage Plate or Player Damage Plate to soften them before the kill. Player Damage Plate deals damage credited as a player kill, which matters for drops that require player kills. Use Mob Filter (Water) and Mob Filter (Fire Immune) to sort mobs that would otherwise survive your damage method. Combine Mob Filter (Raid) to handle raid mobs separately. Anchor Plate stops knockback so mobs stay on your damage plates instead of being pushed off.
