Finding Your First Cave System
Locating Underground Caves
Caves are essential for gathering ores and resources beyond what you can find on the surface. Start by exploring the terrain around your spawn point, looking for dark openings in hillsides, cliff faces, or under overhangs.
Search Strategy
Walk along elevated terrain and coastlines where caves are more likely to be exposed. Listen for cave sounds—water flowing, hostile mobs, or echoing—which indicate a system nearby. If you find a ravine or canyon, follow it downward carefully; these often connect to larger cave networks.
Bring torches before entering any cave. Place them along one wall as you descend so you can find your way back to the surface. Caves in Cyprus's varied terrain often contain multiple levels, so explore cautiously and mark dead ends.
Safety First
Don't venture into caves without basic armor and weapons. Bring a pickaxe to harvest stone and ore, and always have food to restore health. If you encounter lava, water, or too many hostile mobs, retreat and return when better equipped. Mark promising cave locations on your mental map to revisit later with better tools.
