Optimize Performance on Low-End Computers
Verify Shader Settings Are Minimal
Cyberspace Shaders is already optimized for low-end hardware, but check your shader configuration for optional features:
- Disable shadow rendering if available
- Turn off advanced reflections or water effects that may be toggled on by default
- Reduce render distance in Video Settings if you're still experiencing lag
Reduce Minecraft's Base Load
- Lower your chunk render distance to 8–12 chunks
- Disable fancy graphics and use fast graphics mode
- Turn off smooth lighting (the shader handles its own lighting)
- Reduce max framerate cap to match your monitor's refresh rate
Monitor Performance
Use F3 debug screen to watch frame times and memory usage. If FPS drops during complex scenes (large builds, dense forests), reduce neon glow intensity or grid detail in shader settings—these are less performance-critical than terrain rendering.
The shader's point-cloud approach is inherently lighter than standard rendering, so most lag comes from Minecraft's base engine, not the shader itself.
