Using Ability Totems and Synergy Totem with Your Swords

Ability Totem and Synergy Totem are the two totem items in the mod. They are separate from the sword line and are used alongside your weapons rather than as blades themselves.

Ability Totem

Craft the Ability Totem with its recipe and keep it in your inventory while fighting. It is the item that pairs with your sword progression — build it once you have at least one upgraded sword so the totem has something worth supporting.

Synergy Totem

Synergy Totem is the second totem and is crafted separately. Treat it as the later of the two: get Ability Totem first, then work toward Synergy Totem once your essence supply from the Transmutation Furnace is stable.

Practical Setup

1. Craft Ability Totem and carry it during combat.

2. Continue upgrading swords — the totems are most useful once you are past the base elemental tier.

3. Craft Synergy Totem after you have Mixed Essence production running.

4. Keep both totems in your hotbar or offhand so they are active while you swing your sword.

Neither totem replaces a sword. They are support items, so do not delay sword upgrades to rush them.
