Unlocking Elemental Swords: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Thunder, Ice, Light and Dark

The Elemental Tier

Each elemental sword is crafted from a Sword Handle plus its matching Essence. The elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Thunder, Ice, Light, and Dark. Gather the Essence for the element you want, then craft the sword at a crafting table.

Essence Sources to Watch

Fire Essence, Water Essence, Earth Essence, Wind Essence, Thunder Essence, Light Essence, and Dark Essence each drop from their respective elemental sources in the world. Ice Sword sits alongside the Water and Wind lines. Ender Essence is separate and feeds the Ender family. Beast Essence comes from beasts and is used in Beast Sword. Collect every Essence type you encounter, even duplicates, because the Transmutation Furnace can convert surplus into the type you are missing.

Order of Operations

Start with the element whose Essence you can farm most easily, craft that sword, then use it to fight the sources of the next element. Light and Dark Essence tend to be rarer, so push toward those once you have a reliable combat sword. Keep Sword Handles in reserve so a new Essence drop immediately becomes a finished sword instead of sitting in a chest.
