How to Craft a Wooden Lance and Start Fighting

Gather the basics

A Wooden Lance is the cheapest weapon in the Crusade Mod and the natural first step before you commit iron or diamond. You need a crafting table and the shaped recipe registered for the Wooden Lance. Place the ingredients in the exact pattern the recipe shows; the mod only uses crafting_shaped recipes, so the arrangement of items in the grid matters.

Use it in combat

Hold the Wooden Lance in your main hand. It is a lance, so treat it as a reach weapon: ride a horse or approach a target, then strike. Because the recipe type is shaped, you can reproduce it as many times as you have materials, which makes the Wooden Lance a disposable opener for early fights.

Upgrade path

Once you have iron, craft an Iron Lance using the same shaped-recipe approach. Keep the Wooden Lance as a backup or discard it. The progression the mod supports is Wooden Lance → Iron Lance → Diamond Lance → Netherite Lance, each one a separate shaped recipe. Do not skip straight to Netherite unless you already have the materials, because every lance is crafted independently and none of them upgrade from the previous one at a crafting table.
