How to Craft a Netherite Crossbow

Gather the Base Materials

You need a vanilla crossbow before you can upgrade it. Once you have one, collect the materials for the smithing step: a Netherite Crossbow requires a smithing_transform recipe, so you will need a smithing template, a netherite ingot, and your existing crossbow.

Apply the Smithing Transform

Open a smithing table and place the smithing template in the template slot, the netherite ingot in the material slot, and your crossbow in the base slot. The output is the Netherite Crossbow. This is one of the two smithing_transform recipes in the mod, so the process follows the standard smithing table layout.

What the Netherite Crossbow Gives You

The Netherite Crossbow is the top-tier launcher for every bolt type in the mod. It fires Diamond Bolt, Explosive Bolt, Golden Bolt, Iron Bolt, and Netherite Bolt. Because it is a distinct registry item, it does not replace your vanilla crossbow — it is its own weapon. Load bolts into it the same way you load arrows into a normal crossbow, then fire. If you want the strongest platform for Explosive Bolt use, build this first.
