How to Start Farming with Crop Seeds
Getting Seeds and Planting
Crop seeds such as Artichoke Seeds, Asparagus Seeds, Barley Seeds, Basil Seeds, Bell Pepper Seeds, Black Bean Seeds, Blackberry Seeds, Blueberry Seeds, Broccoli Seeds, Cabbage Seeds, Cantaloupe Seeds, Cauliflower Seeds are placed on farmland like vanilla crops. Each seed grows into its matching Crop block: Artichoke Crop, Asparagus Crop, Barley Crop, Basil Crop, Bellpepper Crop, Blackbean Crop, Blackberry Crop, Blueberry Crop, Broccoli Crop, Cabbage Crop, Cantaloupe Crop, Cauliflower Crop.
Harvesting
When the Crop block is fully grown, break it to collect the produce: Artichoke, Asparagus, Barley, Basil, Bell Pepper, Black Bean, Blackberry, Blueberry, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cantaloupe, Cauliflower. Save some produce to craft more seeds, and keep the rest for cooking. Many crops also drop extra seeds when harvested, so replant immediately to keep a steady supply.
Scaling Up
Plant several of each crop so you always have ingredients on hand for recipes like Beetroot Salad, Broccoli, or Cabbage Roll. Combine farmed produce with tree fruits and animal drops to unlock the wider recipe list. Prioritize crops used in multiple recipes, such as Bell Pepper, Cabbage, and Broccoli, to get the most out of each plot.
