Optimize Shader Performance on Lower-End Hardware

Enable Performance Mode

CREEP Shaders includes multiple quality presets. Access your shader settings and select a lower performance tier—often labeled as "Low," "Potato," or "Performance Mode." This disables resource-heavy features like advanced reflections and complex shadow calculations while keeping the core moody aesthetic.

Disable Optional Visual Features

Look for toggles for:

  • Water reflections (often the most demanding feature)
  • Advanced shadows or shadow filtering
  • Ambient occlusion or volumetric effects

Disabling these one at a time lets you see which features impact your frame rate most. You can keep the ones that matter to you.

Monitor Frame Rate

After each adjustment, check your FPS counter (F3 in vanilla Minecraft). Aim for stable 60+ FPS during normal gameplay. If you're still dropping frames during combat or in complex terrain, lower render distance or disable farther-distance shadow rendering if that option exists.
