Using Funnels, Chutes, and Basins for Item Processing

Funnel Basics

Andesite Funnel and Brass Funnel both move items. Place an Andesite Funnel on the side of a Basin or Chute to insert items. Brass Funnel can filter: right-click with an item to set the filter, or use an Attribute Filter for advanced sorting. Funnels pull from inventories behind them and push into the block they face.

Chute Routing

A Chute moves items downward. Stack Chutes vertically to drop items into a Basin below. Place a Funnel on a Chute to insert items from the side. Chutes do not need rotation; they work by gravity. Use them to feed a Basin from a chest above, or to route output from a Crushing Wheel into a storage block.

Basin Processing

A Basin holds items and fluids for mixing, compacting, or alloying. Place a Basin under a Chute to receive items. Add a Cogwheel-driven mixer (a shaft with mixer blades) above the Basin to combine ingredients. For alloying, insert Andesite, Zinc, and Iron into the Basin and run the mixer. The Basin outputs to a Funnel or Chute below.

Practical Setup

Chest → Andesite Funnel → Chute → Basin → Brass Funnel → Chest. This chain moves items from storage, processes them in the Basin, and returns them to storage. Use a Brass Funnel with a filter to keep only the desired output.
