How to Make Precision Mechanisms

Precision Mechanisms are the advanced component you build once you have Brass and a working mechanical line. They gate the higher-tier machines, so plan the production chain before you start.

What You Need First

You need Brass production running (Copper plus Zinc alloyed in a heated Basin) and a way to shape components mechanically. Set up Crushing Wheels for crushing steps, a Basin for mixing, and Deployers or mechanical arms for assembly steps. A Chute or funnel system moves items between stages.

The Assembly Chain

Precision Mechanism production is a multi-step mechanical crafting process rather than a single grid recipe. Feed the intermediate parts through the line in order, using funnels and Chutes to route items between the Basin, Crushing Wheels, and assembly stations. Keep each stage fed so the line does not stall — a stalled stage backs up everything behind it.

Scaling and Storage

Once the chain runs, buffer intermediate parts in Chests or Depots so a hiccup in one stage does not stop the whole line. Store finished Precision Mechanisms in a dedicated chest near where you build advanced machines. If you need more throughput, duplicate the assembly stage rather than speeding up a single stage past its stable limit.
