How to Build a Train

Trains in Create are built from carriages assembled on a track, then controlled with a schedule or manual controls. The key blocks are the Cart Assembler, Controller Rail, and Contraption Controls.

Laying the Track and Carriage

Lay your track, then place a Cart Assembler on the carriage you want to move. The Cart Assembler turns a normal block structure into a moving contraption when it sits on a track. Build the carriage body on top of it — seats, storage, decorative blocks like Brass Bars, Brass Doors, and Brass Ladders all work as carriage fittings.

Control

A Controller Rail lets you drive the train manually or hand it to a schedule. Contraption Controls manage the moving contraption's behavior, including stopping and starting at stations. Use a Clutch on the drive shaft if you want a redstone kill switch for the whole train.

Stations and Stops

Build stations with a Depot or Chute for loading, and use Controller Rail signals to define where the train stops. Seats (Black Seat, Blue Seat, Brown Seat, and the other colors) let passengers ride. Postboxes (Black Postbox, Blue Postbox, Brown Postbox, and the rest) can be placed at stations for mail-style delivery points. Test the route with an empty carriage before adding cargo.
