Building Your First Rotational Power Setup
Generating Rotation
Every Create machine needs rotation. Start with a Cogwheel and a large water wheel or windmill built from your own blocks, then connect the rotation source to a Cogwheel. Cogwheels transfer rotation to adjacent Cogwheels and to shafts. Place Cogwheels side by side to change direction, and stack them vertically to move power up or down.
Controlling the Flow
Use a Clutch to cut rotation on demand, and an Adjustable Chain Gearshift to change speed ratios between two shafts. A Chain Conveyor moves items along a path without needing belts. If you need to stop a machine without breaking the network, the Clutch is the cleanest option.
Moving Items and Blocks
Attach an Andesite Funnel or Brass Funnel to a machine to insert or extract items. Brass Funnels accept filters, so use an Attribute Filter or a Crafter Slot Cover to control what passes through. Use a Chute to drop items straight down into a Basin or chest. For moving whole builds, place a Cart Assembler on a Contraption Controls setup and drive it with a Controller Rail.
Safety and Storage
Keep a Brown Toolbox nearby for tools. Store spare Andesite Alloy, Brass Ingots, and Cogwheels in a chest next to your power source. If a machine jams, break the Clutch connection first before tearing anything apart.
