Choosing Funnels and Tunnels

Andesite Funnels and Andesite Tunnels are the budget option for moving items. Brass Funnels and Brass Tunnels cost more but accept filters, which lets you sort by item type. Place a Funnel on the side of a chest to pull items out, and a Tunnel on a belt line to route items into specific containers.

Filtering with Brass

Put an Attribute Filter or a Crafter Slot Cover into a Brass Funnel to restrict what it accepts. This is how you split a mixed stream into separate chests: one Brass Funnel per output, each with its own filter. Use a Chute when you want items to fall straight down into a Basin or chest without a belt.

Belts and Chain Conveyors

Chain Conveyors move items along a fixed path and are useful for short, tight routes. For longer lines, use belts made from your own materials and feed them with Funnels. A Brass Tunnel placed on a belt can split the stream into multiple outputs.

Practical Layout

Run one main belt from your farm or mining output. Place Brass Tunnels at each branch point. Under each Tunnel, put a chest with a Brass Funnel set to the item you want. Send everything unmatched to the end of the line into a overflow chest. Keep a Clipboard nearby to note which filter goes where, and store spare filters in a Brown Toolbox.
