Plan Around Your Wood Types

Because each Sawmill is tied to a wood type, plan your workstation around the logs you gather. Place an Oak Sawmill, Spruce Sawmill, Birch Sawmill, Jungle Sawmill, Acacia Sawmill, and Dark Oak Sawmill in a row if you harvest overworld forests. Add Mangrove Sawmill and Cherry Sawmill for swamp and cherry groves. For the Nether, set Crimson Sawmill and Warped Sawmill apart. Extended woods each get their own block: Fir Sawmill, Pine Sawmill, Redwood Sawmill, Palm Sawmill, Willow Sawmill, Jacaranda Sawmill, Mahogany Sawmill, Magic Sawmill, Umbran Sawmill, Hellbark Sawmill, Dead Sawmill, Empyreal Sawmill, and Bop Maple Woodcutter.

Build the Layout

Craft each Sawmill with its shaped recipe, then place them where you unload logs. Put chests of matching logs directly behind each Sawmill so you can feed it without walking. Keep Bamboo Sawmill and Bamboo Mosaic Sawmill near your bamboo farm. Label or color-code the row so you grab the right block fast. This layout lets you process any wood type without recrafting or moving blocks, and keeps every Sawmill variant you own in active use.
