Crafting Basalt Bricks, Tiles and Pillars

From Basalt to bricks

Basalt is the starting point. Craft Basalt Bricks from Basalt in a crafting table, then craft Basalt Tiles from the bricks. Keep both stacks separate — every shape variant is made from one or the other, not from raw Basalt.

From Basalt Bricks you can make:

• Basalt Brick Slab, Basalt Brick Stairs, Basalt Brick Wall
• Basalt Brick Gate

From Basalt Tiles:

• Basalt Tile Slab, Basalt Tile Stairs, Basalt Tile Wall
• Basalt Tile Gate

Plain Basalt also has its own set: Basalt Slab, Basalt Stairs, Basalt Wall, Basalt Gate, Basalt Pillar and Basalt Corner Pillar.

Stonecutting the full set

Use a stonecutter with Basalt, Basalt Bricks or Basalt Tiles as the input. The stonecutter recipes cover the slab, stair, wall, gate and pillar outputs, so you can produce a full palette from a single stack of source blocks without hand-crafting each shape.

For a dark build, lay Basalt Bricks as the main wall, cap it with Basalt Brick Slab, and run Basalt Pillar at intervals. Use Basalt Corner Pillar at outside corners so the pillar detail wraps cleanly. Basalt Tiles give a flatter, more uniform surface for floors or large panels, and Basalt Brick Gate or Basalt Tile Gate fills gaps without breaking the pattern.
