Reduce Pack Size by Disabling Unused Mod Textures

Why Remove Texture Folders

The Comprogrammer pack includes textures for over 180 mods. If you don't use all of them, deleting unused folders speeds up loading times and reduces memory usage without affecting your gameplay.

How to Remove Mod Textures

1. Locate your resource pack folder in your .minecraft/resourcepacks/ directory

2. Open the Comprogrammer pack folder

3. Navigate to the assets folder, then the specific mod namespace folders (usually named after the mod)

4. Delete folders for mods you don't have installed or don't use

5. Common folders to consider removing: unused dimension packs, creature mods you don't encounter, or farming mods if you don't cook

6. Reload your resource packs in-game (Options > Resource Packs > Reload)

Tips

  • Back up the original pack before deleting anything
  • Only remove folders you're certain about—deleting active mod textures will show missing textures as purple and black checkerboards
  • Start by removing one or two large mod folders and test before removing more
  • This is especially useful if you're playing on lower-end hardware or have a tight storage limit
