Compressing Dirt, Clay, Copper, and Endstone

Materials with their own lines

Compressed Dirt (1x) starts the dirt line. Compressed Clay (1x) through (9x) covers clay. Compressed Copper (1x) through (9x) covers copper. Compressed Block of Endstone (1x) through (9x) covers endstone.

Crafting the first tier

Place nine of the raw material in a 3x3 grid:

  • 9x Dirt → Compressed Dirt (1x)
  • 9x Clay → Compressed Clay (1x)
  • 9x Copper → Compressed Copper (1x)
  • 9x Endstone → Compressed Block of Endstone (1x)

Climbing tiers

For the lines that go to 9x, combine nine of the previous tier to advance:

  • 9x Compressed Clay (1x) → (2x), continuing to (9x)
  • 9x Compressed Copper (1x) → (2x), continuing to (9x)
  • 9x Compressed Block of Endstone (1x) → (2x), continuing to (9x)

Reversing

Shapeless recipes unpack any tier into nine of the tier below, and 1x into nine raw blocks. This makes Compressed Dirt, Compressed Clay, Compressed Copper, and Compressed Block of Endstone useful as compact storage for materials you gather in large amounts but use slowly.

Storage tip

Dirt and clay pile up fast from terraforming. Compress them into 1x blocks as you dig, then push higher tiers into a single chest slot. Unpack only when a build actually needs the raw material.
