How to Compress Items into Tier I Through V
Compression Tiers
Every compressible item in this mod exists in five tiers: <Item> I, <Item> II, <Item> III, <Item> IV, and <Item> V. Tier I is the least compressed, Tier V is the most. The registry covers items like Apple I–V, Bone I–V, Arrow I–V, Bread I–V, Book I–V, Bowl I–V, Brick I–V, Beef I–V, Beetroot I–V, Beetroot Seeds I–V, Baked Potato I–V, Bamboo I–V, Blaze Powder I–V, Amethyst Shard I–V, Activator Rail I–V, and the flowers and saplings (Acacia Sapling I–V, Birch Sapling I–V, Allium I–V, Azure Bluet I–V, Blue Orchid I–V).
Doing the Compression
Open a crafting grid and place the base item in the pattern the mod expects to produce the next tier up. Both crafting_shaped and crafting_shapeless recipes are registered, so some items compress with a fixed grid layout and others just need the right count dumped into the grid. Work upward one tier at a time: base item to Tier I, Tier I to Tier II, and so on to Tier V. Because the same item name repeats at every tier, keep your tiers separated in chests — a stack of Apple II looks identical in name to Apple I except for the numeral, and mixing them wastes grid space.
Why Tier Up
Higher tiers are the storage answer: a single Tier V entry represents a very large quantity of the base item, so compressing bulk drops frees inventory and chest slots. Compress before you travel or before you dump loot into storage, and decompress back down when you actually need the base item for crafting or feeding.
