Finding and Catching Legendary Pokémon in the Wild

Locating Legendaries

Legendary Pokémon spawn naturally throughout your world in specific biomes. Unlike standard creatures that appear frequently, legendaries are rare encounters. Check biomes with distinctive terrain—mesa regions, mountains, and magical forests are common legendary habitats. Travel during different times of day and weather conditions, as spawn rates vary.

Preparation and Capture

Before hunting, stock up on Ultra Balls or higher-tier Poké Balls, as legendaries have low catch rates. Bring Pokémon with status-inflicting moves like Thunder Wave or Spore to paralyze or put the legendary to sleep—this dramatically increases catch success. Weaken the legendary's health to yellow or red using non-OHKO moves.

When you encounter a legendary, avoid using moves that deal massive damage. Chip away at their health gradually while applying status conditions. Save your game before engaging if you want to retry without losing resources. Once weakened and status-afflicted, throw your best balls repeatedly. Patience is key—legendaries may require dozens of attempts to catch.
