How to Craft an Oak Chest and Use It for Storage

Crafting the Chest

Place a crafting table and open it. The Oak Chest is made with a shaped recipe using Oak planks arranged in the standard chest pattern. Once crafted, place the Oak Chest on the ground and right-click it to open its storage interface.

Storing and Retrieving Items

The Oak Chest works like a normal container: drag items from your inventory into its slots, or shift-click to move a whole stack at once. To take items out, click a slot to pick up a stack or shift-click to send it straight to your inventory. Breaking the chest with any tool returns it and drops its contents, so you can relocate it without losing anything.

Expanding Your Storage

If you need more room, craft additional Oak Chests and place them side by side. You can also craft Oak Barrels and Oak Item Drums from the same wood family to vary your storage layout. Every wood type in the mod — Acacia, Birch, Cherry, Crimson, Dark Oak, Jungle, Mangrove, Pale Oak, Spruce, and Bamboo — has its own Chest, Barrel, and Item Drum, so pick the wood that matches your build. Colored variants such as Red Chest, Blue Chest, and Black Chest are also available if you want storage that stands out.
