Crafting a Pack Frame

Pack Frames are crafted at a crafting table using a shaped recipe. They are available in the wood types Acacia Pack Frame, Birch Pack Frame, Cherry Pack Frame, Crimson Pack Frame, Dark Oak Pack Frame, Jungle Pack Frame, Mangrove Pack Frame, Oak Pack Frame, Pale Oak Pack Frame, and Spruce Pack Frame. Gather planks from the wood you want, open the crafting table, and craft the matching Pack Frame.

Placing and Using a Pack Frame

Place the Pack Frame down and right-click it to open its storage interface. Move items in and out with normal container controls: click to pick up a stack, shift-click to transfer a full stack, and close the screen when done. Breaking the Pack Frame returns it and its contents, so you can relocate it without emptying it first.

Pairing Pack Frames With Other Storage

Pack Frames fit naturally into a wood-themed base. Use an Oak Pack Frame next to Oak Chests and Oak Barrels, or a Spruce Pack Frame in a Spruce cabin. Because Pack Frames come in the same wood families as Chests, Barrels, and Item Drums, you can build a storage wall where every block matches. If you want portable storage instead, craft a Backpack in any of the sixteen colors and carry your items with you. Combining Pack Frames at base with a Backpack on the road keeps your inventory organized in both places.
