How to Craft and Place a Hammock

Crafting

Combine a colored Hammock Cloth with a Rope and Nail to produce a placeable hammock. The Hammock Cloth color you use determines the color of the finished hammock, so pick from Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Gray, Green, Light Blue, Light Gray, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, or Yellow Hammock Cloth. The Rope and Nail is the anchoring component and is consumed in the recipe.

Placement

A hammock needs two anchor points. Place the Rope and Nail side against a solid block, then extend the hammock to a second solid block within range. Both ends must attach to blocks; a hammock cannot hang from open air. Once both anchors are set, the hammock cloth stretches between them and becomes a usable bed.

Using It

Right-click the hammock to lie down. At night or during a thunderstorm, sleeping in a hammock sets your spawn point and skips to morning, exactly like a bed. Hammocks do not occupy floor space, so they fit in tight rooms, on balconies, or between two pillars where a bed would not reach.

If you try to sleep during the day, the hammock will not let you rest. Break either anchor block or the hammock itself to retrieve it and move it elsewhere.
