Choosing Between a Hammock and a Sleeping Bag

Space and Anchors

A Hammock Cloth hammock requires two solid anchor blocks and a Rope and Nail. It hangs between them and uses no floor space, which suits balconies, corridors, and rooms packed with chests. A Sleeping Bag needs only one flat block of ground and no anchors, so it works in caves, on beaches, and anywhere you can stand.

Spawn Point Behavior

Sleeping in a hammock sets your spawn point and skips the night, functioning as a full bed replacement. A Sleeping Bag skips the night but does not set your spawn. If you want a new respawn location, use a hammock. If you only want to pass the night without changing where you respawn, use a Sleeping Bag.

Color Matching

Both come in the same sixteen colors: Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Gray, Green, Light Blue, Light Gray, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, and Yellow. Craft the color that matches your build. You can keep one hammock for your base spawn and carry a Sleeping Bag in your inventory for travel, giving you a fixed respawn at home and a portable rest option on the road.
