How to Build a Colossal Chest

Choosing a material

Every Colossal Chest block exists in eight materials: Colossal Chest Wood, Colossal Chest Copper, Colossal Chest Iron, Colossal Chest Silver, Colossal Chest Gold, Colossal Chest Diamond, Colossal Chest Obsidian, and Colossal Chest Netherite. The material you pick determines the tier of the chest you place. You also need matching Chest Wall blocks of the same material to expand it.

Building the structure

1. Craft a Colossal Chest block of your chosen material.

2. Craft a supply of Chest Wall blocks of that same material.

3. Place the Colossal Chest block where you want the chest to sit.

4. Build a hollow frame of Chest Wall blocks around it. The chest block must be part of the shell, not buried inside.

5. Right-click the Colossal Chest block to open the interface. If the shape is valid, the chest forms and its storage scales with the number of walls used.

All walls in a single chest must share one material. Mixing Chest Wall Iron with Chest Wall Gold will not form a working chest. Keep spare walls of the same material on hand so you can enlarge the frame later without breaking the chest apart.

Expanding later

Add more Chest Wall blocks of the same material to the existing frame and reopen the chest. The storage grows to match the new size. If you want a different material tier, build a separate chest rather than swapping walls.
